About Me

Kirsten O'Sullivan

I hold a Master's degree in the Art of Teaching with over 30 years of experience. As an American Montessori Society-certified educator through sixth grade, I developed and directed an elementary school for 14 years.

In addition, I am also a certified Orton-Gillingham reading specialist.

Currently, I offer a reading tutoring program to help children with learning differences so they will maximize their abilities and potential.

I provide services to families seeking an alternative to their child's current learning situation.

The typical student requires support, guidance, and often a alternative instructional method depending on their specific learning difference.

Most students are early elementary-aged children living near Iowa City. I am invested in your child's academic well-being and future learning through reading.

In-Person

&

Online

While in-person teaching is most effective, I have successfully instructed children online with Zoom and other technologies. Online instruction requires motivated parents and students for success.

Kirsten is wonderful and my children can read proficiently because of their time with her. We are so thankful we found her in Iowa City. She is a kind, patient, and caring instructor who is a passionate advocate for people with dyslexia.
